Trenton School grades 7-12 will return to in-person school starting Monday, September 21st. Please remember to check your children for signs or symptoms each day before school. Students who have temperatures above 100, have lost sensations of taste or smell, or who demonstrate two or more symptoms such as fatigue, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, nasal congestion, or runny nose should stay home and consider getting checked for COVID-19.

TRENTON SCHOOL 7-12 RESTART PLAN All Grade K-6 students will return to regular school on Tuesday, September 8th. Please keep checking this page for a message from the elementary school with more details. Grade 7-12 Restart When we return to school on Tuesday, September 8th after the Labor Day weekend, students in grades 7-12 will be returning on a "Hybrid" schedule, meaning that we will be dividing the student population into two groups with only one group attending each day. Since this most recent COVID-19 situation was focused in the upper grade levels, the school administration felt it best to ease our grades 7-12 students back into the school setting and help minimize opportunity for possible re-transmission of the virus, even though we have followed and exceeded ND Department of Health guidelines for a safe return to school. The groupings for the restart are as follows: Grades 7 and 9-12 A Group - Last names beginning with A-M B Group - Last names beginning with N-Z Grade 8 (since 20 of the 23 students are A-M) A Group - Last names beginning with A-G B Group - Last names beginning with H-Z Schedule Monday, Sept 7 - Labor Day (No School) Tuesday, Sept 8 - A Group Wednesday, Sept 9 - B Group Thursday, Sept 10 - A Group Friday, Sept 11 - B Group Monday, Sept 14 - A Group Tuesday, Sept 15 - B Group Wednesday, Sept 16 - A Group Thursday, Sept 17 - B Group Friday, Sept 18 - Flex Friday (No School) Hopefully all will go well with our restart and we can return to "normal" on Monday, September 21st. In addition to this, sports practices will resume as follows: Varsity football on Monday, September 7, Junior High football and all volleyball levels on Tuesday, the 8th, and Cross Country on Wednesday the 9th. Coaches will be sharing with their athletes the specifics regarding practice times. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these uncertain times. School Restart Update... On Tuesday, Governor Burgum and State Superintendent Baesler held a news conference to discuss what school restarts will look like in North Dakota. On Wednesday and Thursday, Trenton School administrators attended online meetings with school leaders from the state including Superintendent Baesler to discuss details. In a nutshell, school restarts will be left largely to each school district taking into consideration each local community's COVID-19 situation. We will be meeting with our school leadership team to discuss options and develop plans over the next week. It is our intent to stay with our start date of August 18th. Our detailed plans will be shared with parents and the larger community as soon as they are finalized and approved by the school board.

End of the School Year Parents and students... Friday May 22nd will be the end of online instruction for this school year, but it is not the end of the school year, which happens on Friday, May 29th. Teachers have been advised to provide no new instruction for students after May 22nd and the last week of school will be for teachers to work with any students who need additional time. For many students, May 22nd may be the last day of school for them, but it is NOT the last day of school.

8th Grade Graduation Due to recommendations from the ND Department of Health and ND Department of Public Instruction, this year's graduation ceremony will be limited only to our Class of 2020 graduates. We know that this event is important to 8th grade students and their parents, but because of the COVID19 situation, the Eight Mile School District #6 school board approved the decision to follow public health guidance and limit the size of organized gatherings. Trenton School will be making arrangements over the summer to organize a special "Welcome to High School" event in the fall to help compensate for the cancellation of this event. We apologize to our students and their families, but hope that you understand the need to make this decision.
