4-Day School Week Survey Results
We want to thank everyone for their participation in our Four Day School Week survey that was conducted April 16th through April 20th. We had outstanding participation with an estimated 70-80% of households responding. Based on the very strong support for the initiative, the Eight Mile School District #6 School Board voted to approve a move to a four-day school week for the 2020-2021 school year. Following a thorough review of the initiative next year, the school board will vote again next spring to determine whether this initiative will be continued beyond next school year.
In very near future, the school district will be sharing more details regarding the four-day school week including the school year calendar, Friday programming for all students, the restructured school day and more.

Trenton School is joining many other schools across the state by turning on our football field lights from 7:00-9:30 PM this evening, Friday, April 3rd, as a way to honor our students, staff, and community in this time of distance learning and while school buildings are closed due to COVID-19 concerns.
These lights are a symbol of hope as well as an assurance that our students and their well-being are in our hearts and on our minds at this time.
We thank our friends at the Minnesota High School Activities Association for this great idea!

Graduation Plan Update
Seniors and Parents... at this time, Trenton High School is still planning on holding our Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, May 30th at 3:00. However, there is a lot that can still happen between now and then, especially with the extension of the national social distancing guidelines to April 30th. We will continue to follow national, state and local situations so that we can make the most appropriate and safe decision.
Regardless of what is decided, we WILL celebrate our seniors with a ceremony, even if it needs to be pushed into the summer to ensure that we can host an event with more than 50 attendees! Diplomas will be issued at the conclusion of the school year perhaps in a small "Diploma Day" type of ceremony, because we are obligated to provide the diploma immediately upon successful completion of high school, but that would NOT represent their Commencement Ceremony.
Stay tuned for further updates!

Trenton High School Virtual Schedule Attached is the teachers schedule for our Virtual High School. Teachers will be meeting with students in an online format, typically through Google Classroom and Google Meets. Students are expected to "attend" these classes just as if they were in school! If they do not show up, teachers will be contacting students and parents to find out why. In addition, teachers will continue to post grades in PowerSchool, so that functionality has not changed.

Governor Bergum has announced that ND K-12 schools will be closed at least through the end of next week. This means that schools will only be accessible to essential school staff. Trenton School will be implementing their online learning programs beginning next Wednesday, March 25th. We will be sharing more information in the near future.

School Update...
We have received no updates as of yet from Governor Bergum. However, during this week of school closure, Trenton School has been busy preparing plans for educating our students in the coming weeks, uncertain at this time whether we will be back in school on Monday. If we are back on Monday, parents can be assured that our facility has been cleaned thoroughly and that we will be implementing additional health and safety measures throughout the school day to maintain a healthy facility. If Governor Bergum extends the school closure into next week, Trenton School stands ready to deliver educational services to all of our students through multiple platforms beginning next Wednesday, March 25th. These platforms could include online learning, telephone conversations, email, video conferencing and good old-fashioned worksheets and textbook work! School personnel will be contacting parents over the next day or two to ask questions that we need answers to in order to move forward successfully in this process.

The regularly scheduled monthly school board meeting will be held at 5:30PM on Tuesday, March 17th. Due to "social distancing" expectations from the CDE, we are encouraging those interested in "attending" to follow the meeting on Facebook Live - @trentonschool

Prom 2020 Postponed
Based on the CDC guidance to cancel events with 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks to help contain the COVID-19 virus, Trenton School will be postponing Prom 2020 until further notice. We do hope we can reschedule in the near future.

Governor Bergum closes K-12 schools for one week.
There will be no school at Trenton School, March 16-20. All activities and meetings for the week are cancelled.

Region 9 Small and Large Group Vocal Music contest schedule for Monday, March 16th, at Williston State College has been postponed.

Powers Lake Elementary Basketball Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, March 14th has been postponed.

Congratulations to our Kaity Hove who was selected as a finalist for the 2020 Miss Basketball Award!
