Due to the MANY cancellations that occurred this fall and in anticipation of a similar situation this winter as Williams County remains in the Orange Risk Level, the School Board has decided to reimburse all of the annual and individual passes that had been sold, and to discontinue to the sales for the remainder of this year. Because the school will be strictly limiting attendance to roughly 33% of seating capacity, his also means, unfortunately, that the Senior Citizen passes will not be honored until further notice as an emphasis will be placed on ensuring that parents of our athletes are able to attend the games of their children. We do ask all Tigers fans to follow all of our home matches and games as they will be streamed almost live on www.nfhsnetwork.com. A low-cost subscription is required to view the stream.

Trenton School grades 7-12 will return to in-person school starting Monday, September 21st. Please remember to check your children for signs or symptoms each day before school. Students who have temperatures above 100, have lost sensations of taste or smell, or who demonstrate two or more symptoms such as fatigue, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, nasal congestion, or runny nose should stay home and consider getting checked for COVID-19.
TRENTON SCHOOL 7-12 RESTART PLAN All Grade K-6 students will return to regular school on Tuesday, September 8th. Please keep checking this page for a message from the elementary school with more details. Grade 7-12 Restart When we return to school on Tuesday, September 8th after the Labor Day weekend, students in grades 7-12 will be returning on a "Hybrid" schedule, meaning that we will be dividing the student population into two groups with only one group attending each day. Since this most recent COVID-19 situation was focused in the upper grade levels, the school administration felt it best to ease our grades 7-12 students back into the school setting and help minimize opportunity for possible re-transmission of the virus, even though we have followed and exceeded ND Department of Health guidelines for a safe return to school. The groupings for the restart are as follows: Grades 7 and 9-12 A Group - Last names beginning with A-M B Group - Last names beginning with N-Z Grade 8 (since 20 of the 23 students are A-M) A Group - Last names beginning with A-G B Group - Last names beginning with H-Z Schedule Monday, Sept 7 - Labor Day (No School) Tuesday, Sept 8 - A Group Wednesday, Sept 9 - B Group Thursday, Sept 10 - A Group Friday, Sept 11 - B Group Monday, Sept 14 - A Group Tuesday, Sept 15 - B Group Wednesday, Sept 16 - A Group Thursday, Sept 17 - B Group Friday, Sept 18 - Flex Friday (No School) Hopefully all will go well with our restart and we can return to "normal" on Monday, September 21st. In addition to this, sports practices will resume as follows: Varsity football on Monday, September 7, Junior High football and all volleyball levels on Tuesday, the 8th, and Cross Country on Wednesday the 9th. Coaches will be sharing with their athletes the specifics regarding practice times. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we continue to navigate these uncertain times. Steve Morben, Trenton School 7-12 Principal

School Restart Update... On Tuesday, Governor Burgum and State Superintendent Baesler held a news conference to discuss what school restarts will look like in North Dakota. On Wednesday and Thursday, Trenton School administrators attended online meetings with school leaders from the state including Superintendent Baesler to discuss details. In a nutshell, school restarts will be left largely to each school district taking into consideration each local community's COVID-19 situation. We will be meeting with our school leadership team to discuss options and develop plans over the next week. It is our intent to stay with our start date of August 18th. Our detailed plans will be shared with parents and the larger community as soon as they are finalized and approved by the school board.

Trenton School will be having a "Farewell to 2019-2020 Parade" on Thursday, May 21st from 6-7 PM. Parents and students are welcome to come to the school and drive through the main parking lot where the teachers will be assembled for everyone to say farewell and thank you! Don't forget your treats before you exit!!! Check the map below to see how to enter and exit the parking lot.
End of the School Year Parents and students... Friday May 22nd will be the end of online instruction for this school year, but it is not the end of the school year, which happens on Friday, May 29th. Teachers have been advised to provide no new instruction for students after May 22nd and the last week of school will be for teachers to work with any students who need additional time. For many students, May 22nd may be the last day of school for them, but it is NOT the last day of school.
8th Grade Graduation Due to recommendations from the ND Department of Health and ND Department of Public Instruction, this year's graduation ceremony will be limited only to our Class of 2020 graduates. We know that this event is important to 8th grade students and their parents, but because of the COVID19 situation, the Eight Mile School District #6 school board approved the decision to follow public health guidance and limit the size of organized gatherings. Trenton School will be making arrangements over the summer to organize a special "Welcome to High School" event in the fall to help compensate for the cancellation of this event. We apologize to our students and their families, but hope that you understand the need to make this decision.

4-Day School Week Survey Results We want to thank everyone for their participation in our Four Day School Week survey that was conducted April 16th through April 20th. We had outstanding participation with an estimated 70-80% of households responding. Based on the very strong support for the initiative, the Eight Mile School District #6 School Board voted to approve a move to a four-day school week for the 2020-2021 school year. Following a thorough review of the initiative next year, the school board will vote again next spring to determine whether this initiative will be continued beyond next school year. In very near future, the school district will be sharing more details regarding the four-day school week including the school year calendar, Friday programming for all students, the restructured school day and more.

Trenton School is joining many other schools across the state by turning on our football field lights from 7:00-9:30 PM this evening, Friday, April 3rd, as a way to honor our students, staff, and community in this time of distance learning and while school buildings are closed due to COVID-19 concerns. These lights are a symbol of hope as well as an assurance that our students and their well-being are in our hearts and on our minds at this time. We thank our friends at the Minnesota High School Activities Association for this great idea!

Graduation Plan Update Seniors and Parents... at this time, Trenton High School is still planning on holding our Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, May 30th at 3:00. However, there is a lot that can still happen between now and then, especially with the extension of the national social distancing guidelines to April 30th. We will continue to follow national, state and local situations so that we can make the most appropriate and safe decision. Regardless of what is decided, we WILL celebrate our seniors with a ceremony, even if it needs to be pushed into the summer to ensure that we can host an event with more than 50 attendees! Diplomas will be issued at the conclusion of the school year perhaps in a small "Diploma Day" type of ceremony, because we are obligated to provide the diploma immediately upon successful completion of high school, but that would NOT represent their Commencement Ceremony. Stay tuned for further updates!
Trenton High School Virtual Schedule Attached is the teachers schedule for our Virtual High School. Teachers will be meeting with students in an online format, typically through Google Classroom and Google Meets. Students are expected to "attend" these classes just as if they were in school! If they do not show up, teachers will be contacting students and parents to find out why. In addition, teachers will continue to post grades in PowerSchool, so that functionality has not changed.
Governor Bergum has announced that ND K-12 schools will be closed at least through the end of next week. This means that schools will only be accessible to essential school staff. Trenton School will be implementing their online learning programs beginning next Wednesday, March 25th. We will be sharing more information in the near future.
School Update... We have received no updates as of yet from Governor Bergum. However, during this week of school closure, Trenton School has been busy preparing plans for educating our students in the coming weeks, uncertain at this time whether we will be back in school on Monday. If we are back on Monday, parents can be assured that our facility has been cleaned thoroughly and that we will be implementing additional health and safety measures throughout the school day to maintain a healthy facility. If Governor Bergum extends the school closure into next week, Trenton School stands ready to deliver educational services to all of our students through multiple platforms beginning next Wednesday, March 25th. These platforms could include online learning, telephone conversations, email, video conferencing and good old-fashioned worksheets and textbook work! School personnel will be contacting parents over the next day or two to ask questions that we need answers to in order to move forward successfully in this process.
Region 9 Small and Large Group Vocal Music contest schedule for Monday, March 16th, at Williston State College has been postponed.
Powers Lake Elementary Basketball Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, March 14th has been postponed.
